During this hands on workshop Traci will guide you through the making of your own unique kokedama and you will learn the skills to easily create more kokedama at home. Of course we want your masterpiece to bring you joy for many years so you will also receive valuable tips and advice for caring for your kokedama.

Kokedama originated in Japan centuries ago and has traditionally been known as the ‘poor mans bonsai’. The popularity of kokedama has grown over the past few years and they’re now taking pride and place as a feature in many homes.

What is Kokedama? It’s a Japanese form of garden art using soils, moss and string, translated to mean ‘moss ball’.

During this hands on workshop Traci will guide you through the making of your own unique kokedama and you will learn the skills to easily create more kokedama at home. Of course we want your masterpiece to bring you joy for many years so you will also receive valuable tips and advice for caring for your kokedama.

This all inclusive workshop is all about creating and enjoying your evening in a relaxing environment so we’ll take care of everything from materials and tools to light refreshments! And at the end of the evening you can take home your very own kokedama with dish included or to hang. 

We do offer children’s workshops, however Kokedama For Beginners is recommended for participants over the age of 12. Please get in touch for further information regarding workshops for children.

The workshop will be held in our Hub, a dedicated space for learning, creating and sharing. The Hub is located separately on the 3rd level of our store in Mount Gravatt and ensures our customers do not disturb workshop participants. Please check in at the front counter on arrival and one of our friendly team will guide you to the Hub.

Bookings:

You are able to book in store or online.

Hub Members will not receive reward points for your ticket purchase as a third party hosts this workshop.

Cancellations with more than 7 days notice can be refunded in full, minus a $5 processing fee. Due to the costs incurred with the preparation of our workshops we are unable to offer a refund if you cancel within 7 days of the booking. In the event you are unable to attend the workshop we recommend you transfer your booking to a friend to mitigate your loss. In the event we have to cancel the workshop and we are unable to offer you a suitable time to reschedule we will offer you the option of a full refund or store credit.
